Make a lasting difference by empowering learners with SEND to succeedAre you passionate about inclusive education and supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the expertise and drive to help students overcome barriers, build independence, and achieve their goals?We’re looking for skilled and proactive Specialist Learning Support Assistants to join our SEND team. This is a key role within our inclusive provision, working in partnership with curriculum staff to deliver high-quality, responsive support that enables learners to access and thrive in their education.As a Specialist Learning Support Assistant, you will provide targeted, specialist support through one-to-one and small group interventions, while contributing to the wider development of inclusive practice across the College. You will contribute to staff development, share expertise, and support quality assurance processes through evidence-based practice.This is a varied and impactful role. Key responsibilities include:Delivering tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to develop study skills, independence and confidenceSupporting learners with a range of SEND needs, including those with EHCPsWorking collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt teaching approaches and learning materialsPromoting inclusive learning strategies and the effective use of assistive technologiesMonitoring learner progress, attendance and engagement, using data to inform interventionsSupporting transition processes, including school liaison, taster sessions and learner assessmentsProviding specialist advice, guidance and training to staff to promote inclusive practiceContributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement of SEND provisionWe’re looking for someone who combines specialist knowledge with a collaborative and learner-centred approach. You’ll be confident working independently and as part of a wider team, with the ability to influence inclusive practice across the College.You will bring:Experience supporting people with SEN and knowledge of SEND support strategiesExperience delivering targeted interventions and promoting learner independenceStrong communication and relationship-building skillsA proactive, reflective and solutions-focused approachA genuine commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for learnersWe have a full-time role available with the flexibility to be based at any of our campuses in Luton, Watford and Hemel Hempstead.
