Summary

The RoleWe are recruiting for a permanent Learning Mentor, with a start date subject to satisfactory references/clearances.Most of our Learning Mentors work within the Year teams of our pastoral system. There are five in the Main School, one for each year group. The successful applicant will work collaboratively as part of the Learning Mentor team alongside Heads and Deputy Heads of Year. We also have a specialist Learning Mentor who is responsible for our Children in Care. This post provides a unique opportunity to develop and deploy new skills in a School which has a compelling vision and deep commitment to providing exceptional teaching, learning, and pastoral care. The successful applicant will be allocated to a year group, and line managed by the relevant Head of Year. Pastoral teams usually follow students all the way through the school, to provide consistency in support.The working hours are 08:15 to 16:15 Monday to Thursday, and 08:15 to 14:45 on Friday, i.e. 36 hours a week, with 30 minutes daily unpaid lunch break. Learning Mentors work term time only, including 5 INSET days. The salary range is Bristol Grade10 (BG10), which is currently equivalent to a starting salary of £36,581 rising to £40,444 gross per annum (paid pro rata plus holiday pay). This will be prorated according to working hours and working weeks per annum. The contract is subject to a 6-month probationary period.The SchoolSt Mary Redcliffe and Temple (SMRT) is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. We are located at the heart of the city and have a diverse student community with considerable parental support. Our diversity is a strength and something we celebrate.
