Actual Annual Salary: £27,463 - £29,982 per annum (£15.37 - £16.78 per hour)About UsAurora Vincent House School is a specialist secondary school for autistic young people aged 11-16, located in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex.We are a welcoming and nurturing school where kindness, understanding and wellbeing are at the centre of everything we do. Many of our students have joined us from mainstream education and benefit from an adapted National Curriculum, small class sizes and personalised support that meets their individual sensory, social and emotional needs.We're looking for a compassionate and proactive Thrive Practitioner to join our dedicated team and support students' social, emotional and behavioural development.Working closely with our Pastoral Lead, our existing Thrive Practitioner, teaching teams and multidisciplinary professionals, you'll help young people overcome barriers to learning, develop emotional resilience and build the confidence they need to thrive both in school and beyond.What you'll be doingAs a Thrive Practitioner, you'll:Deliver engaging one-to-one and small group Thrive sessions.Support students' emotional wellbeing, social development and self-esteem.Build positive and trusting relationships with young people and their families.Use creative, practical and play-based approaches to support learning and engagement.Work alongside teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to meet individual needs.Help create a calm, safe and inclusive environment where every student feels supported and valued.What we're looking forYou'll have:GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.An understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.Knowledge of children's social and emotional development and attachment theory.Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism, ADHD and anxiety.The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.Strong communication, literacy and IT skills.A positive, flexible and solution-focused approach.Experience supporting young people with autism, ADHD, anxiety or other additional needs would be advantageous.
