Summary

Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for full role requirements. The role will include: 1:7on-call rota currently butwilltogo to 1:8as soon as possible. One half day per month is dedicated toClinical Governance,Audit and Teaching during which time all routine work is suspended. All staff are expected to attend except for those providing emergency cover. All members of the Department are encouraged to take study leave and will be expected to fulfil CPD and revalidation requirements. Teamwork andgood communicationskills are essential.It is expected that every member of the Department will play a full part in formal and informal teaching of medical and other staff, and this is recognized as part ofSupportingProfessional Activities. There may be a need to Move theatres.On-call will depend on the successful candidate and review with the team but currently will compromise of 1 week day evening/night alternate weeks (to be arranged) and 1:7 weekends (Friday to Tuesday 4days). This will reduce to 1.8 and become a three night on-call (Friday to Monday am) as the department expands with an appropriate reduction in PAs.
