Summary

About the role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to an individual pupil and (at times) small groups, and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment where every young person feels safe, seen and supported. This role will predominantly be a one to one support role, however flexibility to work across the school is required at times.Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
-Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or at times in small groups during focused activities
-Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation
-Observing and recording progress, feeding this back to the class teacher
-Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity
-Helping to create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces
-Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families and staff
-Promoting good behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging
Skills and Experience we would like to see:
-Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential
-Experience supporting within a school setting
-Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc
-Understanding of child development and how children learn
-A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for primary education
-UK right to work, as this role is not eligible for sponsorship.
This role is initially on a fixed term contract until August 2027, witht he possibility to extend.
