Summary

We use a fleet of modern Electric (battery) & Diesel light commercial vehicles. The team comprises of 30 colleagues who take pride in the logistical services that they provide to the NHS and strive for excellence and continual improvement. Full induction training is undertaken to the role and on-going training to the scheduled runs is provided by experienced colleagues. You will work alongside other colleagues whilst at the base (Duncan Macmillan House) and although you will mainly work alone whilst driving you may have contact with colleagues at communal locations during the day. The sharing of knowledge & experience between colleagues is undertaken regularly to maintain continual improvement. The role will include. Working as team member on different scheduled runs on a rota basis between 6.30am to 8pm Monday to Friday providing a logistics service. The driving of a works light commercial vehicle including daily basic maintenance & inspection and completion of vehicle records. Manual handling and the use of trolleys to move goods between the vehicle and delivery/collection location. Manual handling of goods some of which may be heavy. Attendance at multiple sites on multiple levels is required throughout a working day collecting & delivering items. Communicating with a range of people on a regular basis. Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
