Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Post-CCT Clinical Fellow to join a friendly and supportive Acute Paediatric team within a busy District General Hospital.Thepostisidealforapaediatricianwhohasrecentlyachieved,orisclosetoachieving,CCTandwishestofurtherdeveloptheiracutepaediatricskillswhilegainingvaluableexperienceinleadership,qualityimprovement,medicaleducationandservicedevelopment.
The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced and approachable consultant team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality acute paediatric care across inpatientservices,thePaediatricAssessmentUnitandneonatalservices.Theroleoffersahighdegreeofclinicalautonomyalongsideexcellentopportunitiestostrengthenskillsingovernance,teaching,audit,qualityimprovementandservicetransformation.
The post holderwillformpartofthedepartment'smiddle-gradeworkforceandparticipateintheacutepaediatricregistrarrota,includingresidentovernighton-callduties,weekendworkingandsupportfortheneonatalrota,withconsultantsupportavailableatalltimes.

The successful candidate will work on the ST3+ higher rota.
Duties will include:
Inpatient paediatrics; assessment and management of acute referrals from A&E andprimary care. Care of those already inpatient on children’s wards and support andsupervision of first on-call trainees.
Neonatal Unit; on-going care and management of babies on the NNU, in transitionalcare and the post-natal wards. Support and supervision for first on trainees in theseareas. Attendance at high risk deliveries.
Safeguarding; assessment and management of children referred for safeguardingassessment under direct supervision of on-call consultant. Attendance at monthly peer review meetings.
Administration; responsibility for e-discharges, Badger summaries, safeguardingreports and outpatient letters.
