SALARY: £45,000 - £47,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits

WORKING HOURS: 36 hours per week
06:00-13:30 / 13:30-06:00 Monday to Thursday
06:00-12:00 / 12:00-18:00 Friday
Probationary period hours will be days based, 08:00-17:00, for training purposes
JOB OVERVIEW
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, expanding operation where engineering reliability matters. The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will support machinery, factory services and new equipment installations.
The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer reports to the Facilities Manager and works across electrical and mechanical maintenance, diagnostics and corrective action while supporting colleagues across the site.
With a focus on continuous improvement, the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will help maintain safe, compliant operations, share practical ideas and assist with apprentice training and mentoring. A three-month probation period applies.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer include:
• Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on extrusion lines, injection moulding machines, automated assembly cells, hydraulic presses, conveyors and other site equipment
• Fault Finding and Repairs: Diagnose and repair faults across building services, plant, machinery and other equipment, including PLC/HMI-controlled systems
• Electrical Installation: Complete electrical installation work for new plant, machinery, equipment and services, including armoured cabling, lighting, power, single and three-phase installations and panel wiring
• Equipment Condition Monitoring: Proactively monitor services and machinery, identify potential issues and report defects promptly to the Facilities Manager
• Site Support: Support departments with electrical and mechanical works and the installation of new plant and equipment
• Compliance and Records: Maintain equipment in line with current legislation and health and safety standards, keeping required documentation and records up to date
• Training and Mentoring: Assist with apprentice training, mentoring and maintenance team training needs
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• NVQ Level 3 or above in an electrical or multi-skilled discipline (or equivalent)
• Apprentice trained (or equivalent)
• Good mechanical knowledge and experience
• PLC and HMI experience, including fault finding
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical practices with good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Focused team player able to communicate clearly, contribute ideas and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment
DESIRABLE
• Factory or production environment experience
• HNC or HND
• BS 7671 18th Edition
• IPAF
• Experience with presses, injection moulding and assembly machines, conveyors, single and three-phase installation and panel wiring
