Summary

To ensure effective discharge planning within the team, liaising with other members of the MDT as appropriate To deliver physiotherapy in different locations, according to the requirements of the post e.g. Trust premises, community premises To use advanced theoretical and practical knowledge to advise, guide and teach less experienced physiotherapists, assistants and students in the assessment and management of patients and other aspects of clinical care, including record keeping. To provide specialist recommendations or second opinion of clinical management and expert advice to the MDT, including peers and consultants, and external organisations. To liaise with the Renal Consultants to formulate protocols/care pathways for the assessment and management of patients attending the Renal Outpatient clinics To manage clinical risk within own clinical caseload, and ensure that clinical risk is effectively managed across the physiotherapy renal team To be an active member of the weekend duty orthopaedic rota, and cover of statutory and public holidays, maintaining the competency required to work as the sole physiotherapy practitioner within this clinical area (optional after first year in post) See job description for full list of responsibilities.
