Summary

The Assistant General Manager will support the operational delivery and performance management of Radiology services, ensuring patients progress through their diagnostic pathways safely and efficiently while meeting key national standards, including RTT, cancer and diagnostic targets. The post holder will monitor performance, waiting lists, capacity and demand, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and lead service improvement and transformation initiatives. They will provide leadership to administrative, booking and support teams, overseeing workforce management activities including recruitment, induction, appraisal, training, wellbeing and performance management. The role will also involve supporting complaints and incident processes, preparing reports for operational forums, managing resources effectively, and working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to improve patient experience, service quality and operational performance across Radiology.
