Summary
A Vacancy at Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust.
As an ICT Technical Specialist, you will safeguard the digital backbone of our organisation. Joining the Digital Infrastructure team, you will ensure our security and firewall services remain secure, resilient, and dependable—directly supporting the clinical and corporate services that keep patient care running safely.
Working alongside senior colleagues, project teams, and external suppliers, you will apply your specialist knowledge to drive continuous service improvement, make effective use of Trust and NHS technology, and deliver a responsive, customer-focused service.

System Security & Operations
• Maintain the day-to-day operation, configuration, rule reviews, patching, access controls, capacity checks, and backup testing for assigned firewall and security systems.
• Manage incident resolution, problem investigation, change implementations, and service requests to maintain high system availability.
• Assist with technology refreshes, service transitions, supplier management, and decommissioning under senior direction.
Technical Guidance & Collaboration
• Serve as a technical specialist, providing expert advice to the Digital Consultant, Head of Digital Infrastructure, project leads, and service owners.
• Identify and escalate material risks, key design decisions, and budget considerations to senior management in a timely manner.
• Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical colleagues, keeping patient care and customer service at the centre of your work.

Cyber Assurance & Documentation
Support cyber assurance by handling vulnerability remediation, secure configurations, logging, monitoring, and audit evidence gathering.
Produce accurate technical specifications, test and implementation plans, risk assessments, operational procedures, and knowledge-base articles.
