Summary
We are seeking a Deputy Manager on behalf of our client to support and work alongside the Registered Manager of the Residential Children’s Home in Kings Heath, Birmingham.
Candidates must have managed a team for at least 2 years with knowledge to efficiently co-managing the house budgets, overseeing the development of staff and the young people in placement, formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments and positive therapeutic parenting.
Candidates must have achieved a level 3 children's residential/children's workforce or level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Residential or a higher qualification in relation to the role. It is essential for the candidate to have a full UK driving licence.
Role is 40 hours per week, with the role split between operational and administrative responsibilities. Approximately 20 hours will be spent on shift, working alongside and supporting the staff team, with the remaining 20 hours allocated to administrative duties and providing support to the Registered Manager.
The administrative hours will be flexible and will be arranged at the discretion of the Registered Manager, depending on the level of support required at the time.
The usual shift pattern is 7:00am–7:30pm. Where a sleep-in is required, the shift will run from 7:00am–10:00pm, followed by the sleep-in. There is also an expectation for the Deputy Manager to participate in the on-call rota, approximately 1–2 weekends as required.
