Summary

We are looking to appoint a trustworthy person who can work in a demanding and busy hospital environment, who must be flexible, hardworking and energetic.

The role is to provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for up to 20 Facilities Assistants, which is essential in maintaining safe, clean, and compliant environments for patients, visitors, and staff.

Arnold Lodge is a Medium Secure Forensic Mental Health hospital.  We provide care and treatment for individuals who have been admitted to us from other secure hospitals or from the prison service.  Because of the specialised nature of the care, we are part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust althoughwe are based in Leicester.    

To ensure facilities operations run smoothly, maintaining safe, clean, and compliant environments for patients, staff, and visitors.

Manage and monitor rotas, ensuring correct allocation of shifts and compliance with service requirements.

Oversee audits, site coordination, and regulatory compliance, including infection prevention and control standards.

Act as a key point of contact for staff, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and appropriate support is available.

Support staff development, wellbeing, engagement, and retention through effective leadership, communication, and guidance.

Liaise with clinical teams and other departments to maintain service continuity and resolve operational issues promptly.

Travel to other sites as required to provide on-site supervision, audits, training, and operational support.

A full UKdrivinglicense and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We require someone with previous experience in a supervisory role, a recognised cleaning or support services qualification with knowledge of relevant NHS policies and procedures, including legal requirements.

Shift pattern/hours are 37.5hrs per week 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday. Applicants must be flexible and able to work additional shifts as and when required (including some weekends) to cover the 7-day week service.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. 

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
