Summary
Small World Montessori Nursery, Kennington, Oxford, is offering a year-long Bridge Student placement for a gap year student with fluency in Welsh or Scottish Gaelic. This is an ideal opportunity for someone considering a career in Early Years education to gain hands-on nursery experience while sharing their language and culture with the children in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general supervision and support for children across meals, outdoor play, rest/sleep times, and daily routines
- Introduce children to Welsh or Gaelic through songs, stories, and everyday phrases, woven naturally into nursery life
- Assist with material making — gluing, painting, mounting pictures, and repairing Montessori learning materials
- Support domestic tasks including loading/unloading machines, laundry, and helping at mealtimes
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff across our three age groups to maintain a warm, well-organised environment for up to 110 children
