Summary

Early Years Teaching Assistant 

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per year, dependent on experience

Contract: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic

Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming early years setting in

Ipswich, Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a

graduate with a 2:1 degree or above who is passionate about working with young children and looking to develop a career within education and early years.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

    • Support children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

    • Assist with engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.

    • Support children's communication, development and wellbeing.

    • Build positive relationships with children and staff.

    • Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

    • Support children's personal, social and emotional development.

    • Observe children's progress and provide appropriate support.

    • Work closely with teachers and experienced early years practitioners.

    • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and EYFS procedures.

    About You

    The successful candidate will:

      • Be a

      graduate with a 2:1 degree or above.

      • Have a genuine interest in early years education and child development.

      • Be enthusiastic, patient, caring and proactive.

      • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

      • Be confident working as part of a team.

      • Have previous experience working with children, whether through employment, volunteering, tutoring or placements — desirable but not essential.

      • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and children's wellbeing.

      Previous EYFS experience is desirable but not essential, making this a great opportunity for a graduate looking to start or develop their career in education.

      DBS clearance and relevant safeguarding checks will be required.
