Sodexo is looking for a reliable and proactive
Kitchen Porter to join our catering team at The King’s Hospital School.
Working alongside the kitchen team, you'll help ensure the back of house and storage areas are clean, organised and maintained to a high standard. You'll also support with deliveries, stock handling and kitchen equipment, helping the operation run efficiently each day.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team and can also take responsibility for their own tasks.
What you'll do:
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation across the back of house and storage areas
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment to maximise efficiency and prolong its working life
Receive deliveries and check that stock meets company and legal requirements
Assist with accurate record keeping, security and the safe storage of deliveries
Follow company and legal requirements relating to food handling, hygiene and safety
Support the implementation of fire regulations and procedures, including assisting with evacuations when required
Work closely with chefs and the wider catering team to support the smooth running of the kitchen
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment throughout the kitchen
What you'll bring:
Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter in a busy kitchen environment
High standards of personal hygiene, cleanliness and presentation
A reliable and punctual approach to work
An understanding of food handling responsibilities and hygiene requirements
Good communication skills and a strong team ethic
A positive, proactive and can-do attitude
The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being comfortable working independently
