We're looking for an Aspiring SEND Practitioner to join a specialist education setting in Truro for an immediate start.
You'll work directly with children and young people with additional needs, gaining valuable experience while helping them become more confident, independent and engaged with education.
You'll gain first-hand experience supporting young people with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll learn how to:
- Build trusting relationships with pupils.
- Provide effective 1:1 support.
- Support learning within small groups.
- Adapt your communication to individual needs.
- Recognise barriers to learning.
- Support emotional regulation.
- Respond consistently to challenging situations.
- Encourage positive behaviour.
- Develop pupils' confidence and independence.
- Support communication and social interaction.
- Follow personalised learning strategies.
- Work effectively within a specialist education team.
Most importantly, you'll learn that progress doesn't always look the same for every child.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one, is required.
