Support children with SEND to thrive, progress and build confidence in a welcoming primary school.
Long Term Futures are looking for a caring and committed Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school near the Madeley area of Telford.
You will support primary-aged pupils with additional needs, particularly speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), autism and learning difficulties. This is a full-time position for the academic year, offering consistency and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils' progress.
In this role, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support
- Support pupils with communication, interaction and learning
- Use visual resources, structured routines and adapted activities
- Deliver targeted interventions under teacher/SENCO guidance
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement
- Monitor progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff
You'll need:
- Previous experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN
- Experience with SLCN, autism or additional learning needs is desirable
- A patient, consistent and nurturing approach
- Confidence building positive relationships with children
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
