Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant/Barista 18years old+ to join our vibrant team within Millsike Prison near York. YOU WILL NEED TO BE OVER 18 AND REQUIRED TO HAVE A DBS CHECK. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages and light food items in a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the smooth operation of the café. Prior experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry. requires working every other weekend.
Duties
· Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks.
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner.
Handle food preparation tasks such cooking food, assembling sandwiches, salads, or snacks as required.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all areas of the café.
Operate coffee machines, blenders, cookers and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Manage cash register operations, including processing payments accurately.
Keep the workspace clean and organised, including clearing tables and sanitising surfaces regularly.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
Follow and comply to prison rules and regulations as set out by the prison.
