Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
Wood Machinist to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
Oldbury area.
THE ROLE
• Operate and set up woodworking machinery including table saws, edge banders, four-sided planers, spindle moulders, and sawmill equipment.
• Measure, cut, shape, and prepare timber and sheet materials to specifications and production drawings.
• Carry out edge banding and finishing processes to ensure high-quality completed products.
• Set and adjust machine tooling, blades, cutters, and feeds for different timber types and production requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks on woodworking machinery and equipment.
• Work from technical drawings, cutting lists, and job sheets to complete manufacturing tasks accurately.
• Handle and move timber materials safely within the workshop and sawmill environment.
• Assist with stock control of timber, boards, veneers, and machining consumables.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience operating and setting woodworking machinery such as table saws, edge banders, spindle moulders, four-sided planers or sawmill equipment.
• Experience working with timber, MDF, plywood, veneers and other sheet materials.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, shape and prepare materials from technical drawings, cutting lists and job sheets.
• Experience setting and adjusting blades, cutters, tooling, machine feeds and speeds for different materials and production requirements.
• Experience carrying out edge banding and general finishing of timber and sheet materials.
• Good understanding of woodworking machinery safety, routine cleaning, basic maintenance and daily machine checks.
• Ability to safely handle and move timber and sheet materials within a workshop or sawmill environment.
• Previous experience in timber manufacturing, joinery, furniture production, woodworking or a similar environment would be advantageous.
• Experience with stock control and managing timber, boards, veneers and consumables would be beneficial.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Friday 07:00am 16:00pm finish (39 Hrs Per Week)
PAY RATE
£13.00ph
