Summary
Job Description
This role is responsible for providing healthcare support to children and young people with complex medical conditions, ensuring their health needs are met and enabling them to access and participate fully in the curriculum.
The successful candidate will be competent in delivering a range of healthcare and daily living support tasks. These may include tracheostomy care and suctioning, catheterisation, supporting children and young people who are oxygen-dependent, and delivering individualised feeding programmes.
You will also provide guidance and support to school-based support staff in the delivery of health-related procedures and interventions required to meet the needs of individual children and young people.
Working closely with school management, families, healthcare professionals, and other external partners, you will help ensure that the ongoing health needs of children and young people are effectively met and that appropriate health support plans are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed.
You will be required to have excellent communication and organisational skills, together with experience of working within an educational, healthcare, or care environment. A commitment to supporting children and young people with complex medical needs is essential.
