Summary
Are you an experienced 7.5 Tonne Driver looking for consistent Monday-to-Friday work, early finishes and the potential to secure a permanent role? We’re currently recruiting for reliable HGV 7.5 Tonne Drivers to join an established waste and recycling operation based in Alfreton.
The Role
You’ll be working as part of a refuse collection crew, driving assigned routes across Derbyshire while completing both household and commercial waste collections.
Working alongside a team of loaders, you’ll help complete daily rounds safely and efficiently. You’ll be expected to follow company procedures, comply with road transport regulations and maintain high standards of Health and Safety throughout the working day.
This is a physically active role involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions, so a practical and safety-focused approach is essential.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) licence
Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
Previous 7.5 Tonne driving experience preferred
Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours regulations and road transport legislation
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
This is an ongoing temporary position with a genuine opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
05:45am start
Typical finish around 02:00pm
No standard weekend rota
Saturday overtime may be available
Regular weekday work
Pay and Benefits
£14.00 per hour for the first 8 hours worked
£21.00 per hour after 8 hours
£21.00 per hour for all Saturday hours worked
Up to 28 days’ holiday accrued pro rata throughout your assignment
Monday-to-Friday working
Ongoing temporary employment
Genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position
