Could you be our next library assistant within our Falkirk team?

In this role you will assist in the provision of library services to the community.

What we are looking for…

The ideal person for this role will be an organised individual, with good customer care skills, attention to detail and be able to work as part of a team. They will have experience using MS office packages and working in a front-line customer service environment. The successful candidate will enjoy supporting people of all ages and backgrounds with digital skills and inclusion, promoting reading for pleasure, and responding to requests for information.

Key skills and attributes will include.

Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines; cash handling skills and ability to process financial transactions; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer care skills; confidence in delivering core library activities and events; ability to interact with demanding/angry individuals and individuals who do not agree with decisions made by the Council; ability to handle and process information safely and in confidence; an innovative approach; ability to be mobile across the Council area; a commitment to supporting equity, diversity and inclusion.
