West Somerset College offers a supportive and forward-thinking environment where staff are empowered to make a real difference, contribute to student success and develop their careers as part of a dedicated and passionate team.About The RoleWe are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to support the effective management of student attendance across the college. This is a varied administrative role that plays a key part in promoting excellent attendance, supporting student wellbeing, and ensuring accurate attendance records are maintained.Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents and external agencies, you will help identify and address attendance concerns, provide timely attendance information and reports, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment where every student can succeed.Key responsibilities include:Administering and maintaining the college's attendance recording systems.Producing attendance reports and providing attendance data to staff and relevant stakeholders. Liaising with parents and carers regarding attendance concerns through meetings, letters, telephone calls and text messages.Supporting teaching and pastoral staff in monitoring and improving student attendance.Organising and monitoring detentions relating to lateness.Providing general administrative support and contributing to the wider office team as required.What We OfferWe care about our staff and are committed to creating a positive and supportive working environment.
