Summary

Customer Service Advisor

Location: Canterbury

£13.61ph

Temporary to Permanent

Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, fully office based.

We're currently recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor to join a busy and friendly team in Canterbury.

This is a varied customer service role where you'll be the first point of contact for customers, providing helpful and professional support by phone and email.

You'll play an important role in making sure customers receive an excellent service from their initial enquiry right through to the successful delivery of their order.

Key Responsibilities

Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally

Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.

Generating sales orders from purchase orders received.

Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email.

Managing the customer service inbox and ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly.

Keeping customers updated on stock shortages, backorders and expected delivery dates.

Liaising with couriers to track deliveries and resolve any delays.

Working with suppliers to obtain product information and resolve customer queries.

Preparing customer quotations and following up where appropriate.

Arranging returns, replacements and credits.

Accurately recording orders, customer interactions and service requests on the company's order management system.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records.

Working closely with the warehouse, sales and purchasing teams to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.

Supporting the wider team with general administration.

Delivering consistently high levels of customer service and looking for opportunities to go the extra mile for customers.

About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in providing a friendly, professional service.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience in a customer service, sales administration or office-based role.

Excellent communication and listening skills.

A friendly, confident and professional telephone manner.

Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Good IT skills and confidence using CRM, order management or similar systems.

The ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, couriers and internal teams.

A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues when needed.

Strong team-working skills.

Good attendance and punctuality.
