Summary

The Band 5 HIV Nurse provides safe, person-centred care to people living with HIV across outpatient, community and outreach settings. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will undertake clinical assessments, support treatment adherence, promote self-management and wellbeing, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality HIV care. The role includes managing urgent clinical queries, maintaining accurate clinical records, contributing to safeguarding processes, and supporting the delivery of national HIV care standards. The post holder will oversee vaccination and injectable treatment clinics, undertake phlebotomy and support the management of blood monitoring clinics. The successful candidate will also participate in home visits, community and outreach clinics, working with healthcare professionals and community partners to improve patient engagement, continuity of care and access to services for vulnerable populations. The post holder will contribute to audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development to build specialist knowledge and skills in HIV, Sexual Health and Community Nursing.
