Summary
Hatch Training is recruiting on behalf of a domiciliary care provider for a Business Administration Apprentice to join their office team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their administration skills while gaining an insight into the healthcare and domiciliary care sector.
The successful apprentice will support the day-to-day administration of the business, helping the office team keep records organised, supporting care staff with administrative processes and ensuring information is accurately recorded and up to date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to emails in a professional and friendly manner.
- Record and log enquiries accurately and ensure they are passed to the appropriate member of the team.
- Monitor Nurse Buddy, the app used by care staff to manage and record their care calls, and flag any issues or information that requires attention.
- Support with the onboarding of new care staff, including Right to Work checks, checking documentation and photocopying identification.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately, maintaining a high level of discretion at all times.
- Keep electronic and paper records accurate and up to date.
- Organise and maintain client folders, ensuring important documentation is stored correctly.
- Provide general administrative support to the office and wider care team.
- Assist with filing, scanning, photocopying, printing and other general office duties.
- Help maintain a clean, tidy and organised office environment.
- Communicate with colleagues, carers, clients and other contacts in a professional and helpful manner.
- Support with other administration tasks as required, while developing your knowledge of the healthcare sector.
The apprentice will also have the opportunity to gain an understanding of domiciliary care from a frontline perspective.
Approximately once or twice a month, the apprentice will be encouraged to attend an emergency call-out, where appropriate, to gain experience of visiting service users and seeing how the care team operates outside of the office.
This will help the apprentice understand how the administration they complete in the office supports the wider care service and the people receiving care.
