Summary
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and ambitious business head to join a growing education organisation in Birmingham.
This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for developing and expanding the organisation’s Health, Social Care and Public Health provision.
The successful candidate will combine strong academic leadership with commercial awareness, strategic thinking and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality education and positive student outcomes.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the role will provide strategic, academic and operational leadership across Health, Social Care and Public Health programmes.
You will be responsible for maintaining high academic standards, developing the curriculum, improving student outcomes and identifying opportunities to grow and diversify the provision.
You will work closely with senior leaders, academic teams and external partners to ensure programmes remain current, relevant and aligned with the changing needs of the health and care sectors.
A key part of the role will be developing new opportunities, strengthening industry and professional relationships and ensuring the organisation continues to provide education that supports employment, progression and long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Academic Leadership
Develop and implement the strategic direction for Health, Social Care and Public Health provision.
Lead the continued growth and development of the academic portfolio.
Identify opportunities for new courses, programmes and areas of provision.
Monitor developments across the health, care and education sectors and ensure provision remains relevant.
Contribute to wider organisational strategy and senior leadership decisions.
Promote a culture focused on quality, innovation and student success.
Quality & Student Experience
Take overall responsibility for academic quality and standards across the portfolio.
Ensure students receive a high-quality learning experience.
Monitor student performance, retention, completion and progression.
Use data and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure programmes meet relevant regulatory, quality and professional requirements.
Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and accessible education.
Curriculum Development & Innovation
Lead the development and review of Health, Social Care and Public Health programmes.
Ensure curriculum content reflects current industry and professional practice.
Identify opportunities for innovative and flexible approaches to learning.
Encourage practical, employer-led and career-focused education.
Support the development of programmes that improve student employability and progression.
Leadership & People Development
Lead, motivate and develop academic teams.
Establish a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture.
Support and develop academic leadership within the portfolio.
Oversee workforce planning and resource requirements.
Ensure staff have appropriate development and CPD opportunities.
Commercial & Operational Management
Take responsibility for the portfolio budget and financial performance.
Support sustainable growth and expansion of provision.
Identify opportunities to increase student recruitment and develop new income streams.
Ensure staff, facilities and resources are deployed effectively.
Respond positively to changing market conditions, funding arrangements and student demand.
External Relationships & Partnerships
Develop strong relationships with employers, universities, healthcare organisations, care providers, public health bodies and professional organisations.
Establish partnerships that enhance student experience and employability.
Develop opportunities for placements, work experience and applied learning.
Represent the organisation at external events and within relevant professional networks.
Build the profile and reputation of the Health provision.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant education regulations and professional requirements.
Maintain effective quality assurance and academic governance.
Oversee appropriate risk management within the portfolio.
Ensure safeguarding, health & safety and organisational policies are effectively implemented.
Support inspections, audits and external quality reviews.
