About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established bespoke joinery manufacturer in Preston, producing high quality, purpose-made joinery and fitted furniture for commercial, leisure and retail projects across the UK. Due to ongoing workload in their workshop, they are looking for an experienced CNC Operator to work on a HOMAG wood CNC machine on a temporary basis, with the potential for work to be extended depending on business demand and individual performance.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the CNC, working with timber and panel products to produce components to specification as part of a busy manufacturing team. Programming experience is not essential, as training can be provided for candidates with strong CNC operating experience in a wood / joinery environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Operate a HOMAG CNC machine to produce timber and panel components in line with job sheets and drawings.

• Load materials, set up jigs and fixtures, run pre-set programs and monitor quality during the cutting process.

• Carry out basic machine checks and routine maintenance, reporting any issues to the Workshop Supervisor or Team Leader.

• Operating an edge bander, with the ability to set up and run edge banding machinery safely and accurately.

• Work closely with bench joiners and the wider workshop team to meet production deadlines.

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area in line with company health and safety procedures.

Hours and pay:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30am – 4:00pm | Friday: 07:30am – 3:00pm.

• Pay rate: £13.59 – £15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
