About the Role

The Lift Engineer is an integral part of our Maintenance Division and is responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance and servicing of lifts and controlled access systems to the highest professional standards.

You will respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts, diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults, undertake planned preventative maintenance on a range of lift installations, and ensure all work complies with LOLER requirements and health and safety legislation. This role also involves supporting the development of Apprentice Lift Engineers, maintaining accurate records, and delivering excellent customer service while building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Working within a safety-critical environment, the role requires a strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and lift industry regulations, ensuring all work is completed safely and in full compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.

What You Will Bring

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Lift Engineer with extensive industry experience, strong technical knowledge and the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A positive, customer-focused approach is required, with responsibility for keeping customers informed of work progress, coordinating follow-on trades where required, and ensuring work sites are left safe, clean and tidy with all waste materials and debris removed upon completion.

You must hold a full UK driving licence and an EAL/SVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent.
