Summary

The role will involve, Undertaking a varied General Ultrasound caseload, adapting examination techniques to individual patient needs to produce high-quality diagnostic images and support accurate diagnosis. Independently interpreting ultrasound examinations, producing clear reports and making appropriate recommendations or referrals for further assessment. Providing compassionate, patient-centred care, communicating effectively with patients and carers and sensitively managing complex or sensitive information. Contributing to the effective delivery and development of the service through education and training, quality assurance, audit, service improvement and multidisciplinary team working. What experience/skills are neededA professionally registered Sonographer holding a CASE-accredited qualification or equivalent. Demonstrable experience in General Ultrasound, with the clinical knowledge and practical skills required to undertake a varied diagnostic ultrasound caseload. Ability to interpret ultrasound images and produce accurate, timely and clinically appropriate reports using sound professional judgement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to continuing professional development, quality improvement and supporting the education of colleagues and students. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover post, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support the safe and effective delivery of the ultrasound service.
