TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary special school in Clevedon supporting students aged 11 to 19 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties / PMLD, physical disabilities and Autism / ASD, with a strong focus on achievement, independence and preparation for adulthood.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher from September on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful Science Teacher will plan and deliver creative and engaging Science lessons adapted to individual needs and abilities, working closely with Learning Support Assistants and other professionals to monitor progress and help pupils work towards their personal learning goals.
The successful Science Teacher will have:
• QTS with a Science specialism, ECTs are welcome to apply
• Experience teaching or supporting young people with SEND and/or complex additional needs
• The ability to adapt and differentiate Science lessons to meet individual abilities
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, supportive and flexible approach to learning
