Contract - Permanent

Hours - 37 per week

Salary- NJC Grade H1 £39,481 - £42,123 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Commissioning and Market Review Officer to join our Commissioning Team, with a dedicated focus on Education Services and Alternative Provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping high-quality education pathways and alternative provision services that support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. Working collaboratively with colleagues, schools, education providers, and wider partners, you will help ensure that services are responsive, effective, and meet the diverse needs of learners across our community.

As part of this role, you will support the planning, development, commissioning, and review of education services, helping to strengthen the local market and ensure sufficient, high-quality provision is available. You will contribute to identifying gaps in services, driving innovation, and supporting the development of a diverse range of education and alternative provision opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Support the strategic planning, development, commissioning, and review of education services, including Alternative Provision.

Work in partnership with schools, education providers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to design and deliver effective services for children and young people.

Lead market development activity to encourage a diverse, sustainable, and high-quality provider network.

Analyse local need and identify gaps in provision, contributing to future service planning and improvement.

Support and oversee procurement and commissioning processes, ensuring value for money and positive outcomes.

Manage provider relationships and contracts, monitoring performance, quality, and compliance against agreed standards.

Use data, intelligence, and stakeholder feedback to inform service development and continuous improvement.

Promote a strong understanding of commissioning, market management, and quality assurance across the organisation.
