Machine Operator – Stockport
Pay Rate: £15.33 per hour
Hours: 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm, rotating shifts
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Due to significant investment in their site and continued growth in business levels, our large manufacturing client based in Stockport is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to develop your skills and become a permanent member of the team.
The Role
As a Machine Operator, your responsibilities will include:
• Operating and monitoring manufacturing machinery.
• Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems — experience in these areas would be a distinct advantage.
• Operating CNC milling or turning machinery — previous experience is desirable.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and verniers.
• Ensuring work is completed to the required quality and specification.
• Working safely and efficiently as part of a busy production team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You should be confident working with machinery and engineering drawings, with a good understanding of precision measurement.
