Summary

As a Non-Executive Member, you will work alongside the Chair, other Non-Executives and Executives as an equal member of Boards meeting in common which will lead the cluster. You will be responsible for specific areas relating to board governance and oversight and will: Work collaboratively to shape the long-term viable plan for the delivery of functions, duties and objectives of the cluster and for the stewardship of public money. Have a collective responsibility with the other members of the Board to ensure corporate accountability for the performance of the organisation, ensuring its functions are effectively and efficiently discharged and its financial obligations are met. Bring independent thought and respectful challenge to the plans, aims and objectives, and priorities of the cluster and champion the Boards approach to innovation and thinking outside the box. Promote informed, open and transparent decision-making that facilitates consensus aimed at maximising outcomes for the population. Ensure the Boards and Committees are effective and well led in all aspects and focused on the transforming toward the core purpose and functions of Strategic Commissioning; alongside immediate priorities of delivering 2025/26 final plan, operational and quality standards, and achieving the safe transition of functions to NHS England and providers as set out in the Model ICB Blueprint. Be champions of governance arrangements, collaborative leadership and effective partnership working, including with local government, NHS Trusts, Primary Care, the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE), and others. Support the Chair and wider Boards on issues that impact development and delivery of cohesive and complementary work across the LNR cluster. Play a key role in the Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) to ensure the cluster is well led, meets its statutory duties, building strong partnerships and governance arrangements with system partners, including assuming commissioning functions from NHS England.
