Salary: £25,583 - £25,989 per annum

About the Role
Libraries NI is recruiting a
Mobile Library Driver to support the delivery of mobile library services across the local community.
This role involves driving and maintaining the mobile library vehicle, providing excellent customer service to library users, and supporting the delivery of library services at various service points. The successful candidate will enjoy working with the public and be committed to providing a welcoming and accessible service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate the mobile library vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Support the delivery of library services across designated routes and locations.
- Provide excellent face-to-face customer service to library users.
- Assist customers in accessing library resources and services.
- Carry out vehicle checks and report maintenance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant driving and road safety legislation.
- Use ICT systems to access, record, and update information.
- Support library activities and promotions as required.
- Work flexibly across service points and locations as required.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- A valid driving licence including
Category C1.
AND
Either:
- Five GCSE/GCE O Levels at grades A*-C, including English and Maths (or an equivalent/higher qualification), together with at least
one year's experience driving a vehicle up to and including 7.5 tonnes;
OR
- At least
two years' experience driving a vehicle up to and including 7.5 tonnes.
In addition, applicants must have:
- At least
- Experience using current ICT systems to access, select, and use information.
one year's experience working with the public in a face-to-face customer-focused environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of legislative requirements associated with driving and maintaining vehicles.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work a mix of mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Ability to work at the base location and other service points as required.
Working Pattern
Week 1
- Thursday: 9:15am - 5:00pm (30-minute break)
- Friday: 9:15am - 5:00pm (30-minute break)
- Saturday: 9:15am - 4:30pm (30-minute break)
