Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Learning and Development (CLD) Service and make a positive difference to individuals, families and communities across the Scottish Borders.

Working alongside learners, communities and a wide range of partners, you will help identify local needs and develop learning opportunities that support people to build skills, confidence, connections and opportunities. Your work may include adult learning, youth work and community capacity building, with a strong focus on engaging people, reducing barriers to participation and supporting positive outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver creative, responsive and inclusive CLD programmes, including accredited learning where appropriate, and work collaboratively with partners and communities to ensure local activity reflects identified needs and priorities.

You will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of local CLD provision, using learner and community feedback, evidence and self-evaluation to demonstrate impact and continuously improve what we do.

Depending on the requirements of the role, you may also support and line manage staff and volunteers, helping to create a positive team culture and promote high-quality CLD practice.

The role offers variety, partnership working and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of CLD across the Scottish Borders. All activity will be delivered in line with relevant national and local CLD priorities, quality frameworks and Scottish Borders Council policies and procedures.

Essential

A degree or post graduate level CLD, or equivalent qualification

Significant relevant work experience

Registration with CLD Standards Council is required within 1 year
