Summary

Put Away Operative – Fixed Nights

Location: Mirfield

Pay: £14.67 per hour

Hours: Fixed night shifts, 22:00–06:00

Holiday: 28 days, including bank holidays

Essential requirement: Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence

Aqumen is recruiting Put Away Operatives on behalf of our client’s busy manufacturing site in Mirfield.

This is an opportunity to put your warehouse and forklift skills to use in a varied, practical role, with fixed night shifts and ongoing work available for reliable and motivated candidates.

Working in the Bonded Wadding department and reporting to the Shift Manager, you will help keep production moving by ensuring finished products are checked, safely packed and accurately recorded in the warehouse.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Checking bagging machine settings, changing rolls and operating equipment safely within its specifications.

• Checking finished products against customer specifications and any special instructions.

• Scanning, counting and booking finished products into SAP, ensuring all stock records are accurate.

• Opening, closing and managing orders, with accurate bookings and cage allocations.

• Filling cages safely and correctly, checking requirements against orders and communicating with colleagues.

• Ensuring forklift safety checks have been completed before using the truck.

• Following site safety procedures and wearing the required PPE.

• Reporting production, equipment or quality concerns to the Team Leader or Shift Manager.

• Helping resolve problems, reduce downtime and improve working processes.

• Keeping the production line and surrounding area clean and tidy, including processing waste through the waste pickers.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.

• Previous warehouse experience and familiarity with stock control systems such as SAP.

• Good computer skills and strong attention to detail when counting, scanning and recording stock.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• A reliable approach and the ability to remain focused under pressure.

• The ability to carry out the physical duties of an active production and warehouse role.

• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English. Reading, writing and basic numeracy will be assessed before employment.

Previous production or manufacturing experience, including the use of computerised equipment and machinery, would be an advantage.
