Summary

A little about myself

I am a 10-year-old boy living in Gorseinon. I am bouncy, happy, fizzy and I am autistic. I love watching flags blowing in the wind and being outside. I like to go to the park to play but I prefer small, enclosed spaces. I love swimming and being in the water. I also love nothing more than relaxing at home with a snack watching a movie. I am always on the go, and I have lots and lots of energy! I love lots of cwtches. I am prone to pinching when over excited. I love being pushed on a swing, walks in nature, soft play. I can occasionally freeze in unfamiliar surroundings.

Own car essential.

A happy, positive, bubbly personality.

Physically fit as I enjoy lots of active play.

Experience of working with autistic children and children with additional needs.

Hours of work

5 hours a week.

Possibly more and the occasional evening, availability during school holidays.

Rate of pay

£13.13

Tasks involved

· Take me to soft play

· Take me to the park

· Take me to see animals such as a farm etc

· Sensory play.

· Water play - in warmer weather I enjoy going to an outdoor splash park.

· Sit with me and watch a movie with snacks!

· Attend autism specific events, NAS Swansea etc

· I will require assistance with personal care.

· Someone who is adaptable and flexible is essential

· Someone who could provide extra hours on occasions

· Someone who will be able to support me but not take over

· Able to work Independently and on their own initiative to previously agreed criteria

· Someone who is able to work to instruction

· Someone trustworthy, reliable and punctual

· Someone with a caring and responsible attitude

· Be willing to undertake any training identified as relating to the post e.g. Manual Handling Course, Basic First Aid

Concerning the position

You will be formally employed by the Direct Payment Client which requires a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly with appropriate holiday pay calculated. A DBS will need to be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs are met by Swansea council.
