Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

1:1 Teaching Assistant

Required from October 2026

30 hours per week, term-time only (8.30am - 3.30pm daily with 1-hour lunch)

Salary scale for post: Grade 5 scp 8-14

This role is linked to a named pupil and is dependent on funding and establishment requirements.

The Governors at St. Thomas’ are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to offer effective support for teaching and learning opportunities, under the guidance of teaching staff and SENCO for a Key Stage 2 pupil (Year 4) with significant additional needs.

The Governors are seeking applications from teaching assistants who will:

✓Be qualified at minimum NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent)

✓Have relevant recent experience within the primary age range

✓Have experience of working 1:1 with a pupil

✓Have experience of supporting pupils with significant additional needs

✓Engage and support pupil in their personalised curriculum through a variety of strategies

✓Maintain and promote the Christian ethos of the school
