Summary

Duty Officer

Initial salary between £28,329 and £33,510 per annum

37 hours per week on a shift rota basis, including weekend and bank holidays

Based at Alive Downham Leisure Centre, Downham Market

Are you ready to take the next step in your leisure career and help lead the day-to-day operation of a busy community leisure centre? We are looking for a full-time permanent Duty Officer to join the team at Alive Downham Leisure Centre, supporting the safe, efficient and welcoming running of the centre for customers, staff and the wider community.

In this varied role, you will assist with the management of the centre, helping to make sure facilities operate safely and effectively, procedures are followed, and excellent customer service is delivered at all times. You will supervise, support and motivate staff, contribute to training and performance, assist with rotas and operational procedures, and take responsibility for key areas including health and safety, customer care, income and expenditure, and the smooth running of day-to-day activities.

You will bring supervisory experience within the leisure sector, strong communication skills and a positive, practical approach to customer care. You will be able to remain calm and focused under pressure, manage and motivate others, and use your knowledge of health and safety to help maintain a safe and professional environment. You must hold, or be willing to complete, a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification*; First Aid at Work Certificate; and Pool Plant Operators Certificate. You will also be able to obtain a Swimming Teacher Qualification to provide swimming lessons when required.

* A swim test will be required to ensure suitability to complete the NPLQ course if successful through initial interview.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
