Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for highly skilled, qualified tutors to deliver Welsh Culture, History, Politics and Literature courses to learners in the following areas:

Swansea – Face to face delivery – through the medium of English/bilingually – approx. 3 hours per week

Neath Port Talbot – Face to face delivery – through the medium of Welsh – approx. 3 hours per week

Online delivery – through the medium of English/bilingually – approx. 10 hours per week

You will plan, develop, deliver, evaluate and assess courses and learning programmes in accordance with learner needs and Adult Learning Wales’s Quality Procedures, in support of delivering high quality learning.

Please Note: these are courses for the teaching of the above four named areas – not the Welsh language itself. Courses will take place during the daytime only.

The Tutor role is a diverse, hands on role where you will be working independently and also with the regional team.

You will have responsibility for (but not exhaustive to):

• Planning and preparing courses – preparing lesson plans and schemes of work. Selecting learning materials and a range of learning methods to meet the learner’s needs.

• Supporting learners – Assessing learners’ previous learning experiences and achievements, providing them with appropriate advice and guidance, and ensuring learners are aware of their progression routes.

• General – undertake administrative tasks in line with regulations for the funding of Adult Learning Wales. Attend relevant tutor meetings, quality briefings and relevant accreditation / moderation meetings.

Recruitment and Selection Process

Interviews will take place on Monday 5th October.

As part of the interview process you will be asked to deliver a microteach session, and to provide a lesson plan, scheme of work, and any resources for this session.
