Porter to join our Facilities Management team at the
University of Greenwich.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in keeping a vibrant university campus running smoothly. From supporting major events and room set-ups to handling deliveries, post distribution and maintaining campus standards, no two days are the same.
As a Porter, you'll support the delivery of an integrated Facilities Management service across the University of Greenwich campus. You'll be a visible and valued member of the team, ensuring the university environment remains welcoming, safe and efficient for students, staff and visitors.

What you’ll do:
- Moving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies safely and efficiently
- Supporting the delivery and collection of mail across campus
- Assisting with stock, equipment and supplier deliveries
- Setting up teaching spaces, meeting rooms and event venues
- Supporting university events with room preparations and resource deployment
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of designated internal and external areas
- Assisting with waste collection and removal activities
- Delivering excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors
- Working closely with colleagues across Sodexo and the University
- Following Health & Safety and COSHH procedures at all times
- Supporting the wider Facilities team with additional duties when required
What you bring:
- A positive, customer-focused attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A flexible, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The confidence to respond professionally to changing priorities
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience in a portering, facilities, logistics, housekeeping, hospitality, warehouse or customer service environment
- Experience driving commercial vehicles, including Luton vans (desirable)
- The willingness to occasionally support outside normal working hours during emergencies or special events
