Literacy Co-ordinator Grade 5 Grade 5 SCP 12-17 (£27,711 - £30,060) PRO-RATA 25hrs/week Term Time Only Fixed Term 1 Year / Part Time / Term Time Only 39 week per yearThe roleLlanwern High School is looking to appoint an experienced Literacy Teaching Assistant. Are you passionate about literacy and committed to making a real difference to young people’s learning and achievement?We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Literacy Co-ordinator to lead and develop our whole-school approach to literacy. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational practitioner to work collaboratively with colleagues across the school, to improve learners’ literacy skills, confidence and engagement across all areas of the curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong culture of literacy and ensuring that every learner is supported to reach their full potential.The schoolLlanwern High School is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school serving much of the eastern side of Newport. We are housed in a new building that provides a learning environment and facilities appropriate for a 21st century school. We currently have just over 1100 pupils on roll. We believe that education should be about preparing young people with the key skills and behaviours that they will need for a successful future, hence our school vision of “Nurture, Growth, Success for All”.We pride ourselves on the wider opportunities to support pupil development outside of the classroom, such as our recent production of Grease, our Cultural Showcase, alongside regular sporting fixtures.
