The advertised post is for a full-time Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Genitourinary (GU) Radiology.

This is a new post developed to support the expanding urology service at Whipps Cross Hospital, which serves as the urology hub for Barts Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will support increasing demand in uro-oncology and complex urology pathways, working closely with surgical teams undertaking specialist procedures including percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and partial orchidectomy.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of a high-quality uro-radiology service. Full support will be provided to develop subspecialty expertise and procedural skills.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our existing radiology team. The post will be entirely based at Whipps Cross University Hospital, although collaborative working across the Trust will be supported.

The applicant should be able to demonstrate excellent general radiology knowledge and have extensive experience in cross-sectional imaging, ultrasound and plain film reporting. Importantly the successful candidate should possess the range of skills, techniques and proficiency required to provide a high-quality uroradiology service including urointerventional procedures to our patients.

Research and teaching activities are encouraged and supported by the active academic department and there is a highly successful training programme with  registrars.

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.

Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.

We strive to live by our WeCare values and are committed to promoting inclusion, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of a high-quality uro-radiology service. Full support will be provided to develop subspecialty expertise and procedural skills.
