Summary

Leadership and Staff Management Provide effective leadership and management across the practice. Develop and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive working environment. Line-manage administrative and reception staff. Support recruitment, induction, training, and retention of staff. Conduct staff appraisals and performance reviews. Manage staff absence, disciplinary matters, and grievances in accordance with employment policies. Promote staff wellbeing and continuous professional development. Encourage teamwork and effective communication across all disciplines. Operational Management Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice. Ensure efficient appointment systems and patient access arrangements. Monitor workload and staffing levels to maintain effective service delivery. Develop, implement, and review practice policies and procedures. Ensure continuity of services and maintain business continuity plans. Manage relationships with external suppliers and contractors. Oversee premises management, maintenance, and security. Financial Management Prepare, monitor, and manage practice budgets. Work with Partners and accountants to ensure effective financial planning. Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities for cost savings. Maximise practice income through NHS contracts and enhanced services. Oversee payroll processes and financial reporting. Ensure accurate claims and submissions are made to NHS organisations. Assist with contract negotiations and service development opportunities. Human Resources Ensure compliance with employment law and HR best practice. Maintain accurate personnel records. Manage recruitment processes including advertising, interviewing, and onboarding. Coordinate mandatory training and compliance requirements. Support workforce planning and succession planning. Governance and Compliance Ensure compliance with NHS regulations, policies, and contractual obligations. Maintain compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements. Lead preparations for inspections and audits. Ensure effective risk management systems are in place. Maintain practice registration requirements and statutory obligations. Ensure compliance with data protection legislation and information governance standards. Oversee incident reporting and learning processes. Patient Services Promote a culture of excellent patient care and customer service. Monitor patient satisfaction and respond to feedback. Manage and investigate complaints in accordance with NHS procedures. Implement improvements based on patient feedback and service evaluations. Work to improve patient access and experience. Strategic Development Support the GP Partners in developing and delivering the practice strategy. Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation. Implement changes in response to NHS policy and contractual developments. Support the practice's participation within the Primary Care Network (PCN). Contribute to business planning and future sustainability. Develop partnerships with local healthcare providers and stakeholders. Information Technology Ensure effective use of clinical and administrative IT systems. Support digital transformation initiatives. Liaise with IT providers regarding system maintenance and improvements. Ensure data quality and system security are maintained. Promote staff competence in the use of technology and practice systems. Health and Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. Maintain appropriate risk assessments. Ensure fire safety procedures are implemented and reviewed. Oversee infection prevention and control procedures where applicable. Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
