Summary

The post will be based primarily at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and will support services delivered across Liverpool University Hospitals sites, including Aintree and Woodlands Hospice. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that referrals, enquiries and clinical information are managed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with Trust procedures.

The post holder will need to work effectively as part of a busy administrative team, demonstrating excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills. The post holder will be expected to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and communicate professionally and sensitively with patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.

 

·        Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Palliative Care and Acute Oncology clinical teams.

·        Act as a point of contact for telephone and email enquiries, ensuring that queries are managed professionally and escalated where appropriate.

·        Coordinate and process referrals, ensuring that information is recorded accurately and communicated to clinical colleagues in a timely manner.

·        Enter, maintain and update patient and service information using relevant Trust systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

·        Support the administration of the weekly Palliative Care MDT, including the preparation of information and follow-up of agreed actions where required.

·        Provide administrative cross-cover to support service continuity during periods of planned and unplanned leave, as required.
