Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To demonstrate the trust values at all times; Vision, Openness, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence. Practice within baby friendly standards to ensure that all parents have the information required to make informed feeding choices and are aware of the specialist support services available to manage complex feeding difficulties and to promote the continuation of breastfeeding. To work within the infant feeding team offering families evidence based information and support around infant feeding. To work with families who are experiencing feeding difficulties in the early postnatal weeks and months Make initial contact to parents who have just had a baby to offer early interventions and support. To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to children, young people and families. Ensure the escalation of issues relating to tasks occur in appropriate manner. To undertake any other reasonable duty which is appropriate to the band when requested by senior staff. To be able to travel across the borough to support service delivery. Communicate with parents/carers and children in a way that is appropriate to them and the situation Be able to communicate with children, young people and families for whom English is a second language, using service link workers, telephone interpreting or bookable face to face interpreters. Have the ability to manage challenging, distressing and emotional circumstances, accessing team support, leadership support and clinical supervision as required. Form productive relationships with relatives/carers and patients and maintain sensitivity to their emotional needs when discussing plans of care. Establish and maintain productive working relationships within the 0-19/25 service Facilitate communication with other health professionals, external providers and community and voluntary sector providers
