Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Duties as a Year 2 Teaching Assistant:

Support pupils within a Year 2 classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis
Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
Help develop pupils' literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
Support children preparing for Key Stage 1 assessments
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Assist with classroom preparation and organisation
Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Ideal Year 2 Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
Experience within a school or educational setting is advantageous
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Understanding of Key Stage 1 learning and development
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
