Central Belt, Scotland | Leading Fit-Out Subcontractor | 4-Day Working Week

Our client is a highly respected, family-owned fit-out subcontractor with an outstanding reputation across Scotland's construction sector. Working in partnership with many of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors, they deliver high-profile projects across commercial, education, healthcare, leisure and public sector environments.Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial leadership of the business.

Your new role

As Senior QS/Managing QS, you will take commercial responsibility for a number of significant fit-out packages on some of Scotland's most prestigious construction projects.Working closely with senior management, project teams and key clients, you will lead commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account while also mentoring and developing a small team of Quantity Surveyors.

Key responsibilities will include:

Commercial management of multiple fit-out projects

Preparation and negotiation of valuations, variations and final accounts

Contract administration and risk management

Cost forecasting and reporting to senior leadership

Subcontract procurement and management

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Mentoring, developing and supporting junior commercial staff

Contributing to the strategic growth and commercial performance of the business

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor

Strong construction or fit-out sector experience

Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge

Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and major construction projects

Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Commercially astute with excellent communication skills

Ambitious and motivated to play a key role in a growing business
